About A.C.E.
Every new student is required to take a PLACEMENT TEST to start them at the exact Pace number and level the student needs to start from to avoid gaps in their education. This TEST can be taken from the www.schooloftomorrow.com website.
Each year a student has 12 Paces per subject to complete. The year is broken down into Quarters. The student knows they need to complete and pass the test for 3 Paces in each subject during each quarter.
Electives can be chosen by students that are able to add more Paces to their schedule without taking away from the core subjects. These Electives allow students to grow their individual interests. It is not necessary to have more than 1 student in each Elective. A.C.E. is flexible.
A.C.E. curriculum teaches the student to set goals that are realistic and attainable.
Each student works at their own level and at their own pace.
For students that TEST below their traditional grade level, A.C.E. allows them to stay in the same classroom, learning side-by-side with their peers, learning to set goals so that they can succeed. With A.C.E., a "behind" student is able to catch-up to their traditional grade level without the pressure of their classmates' abilities. This curriculum fosters confidence and personal success in school!
For students that TEST above their traditional grade level, A.C.E. allows them to work ahead of their traditional grade level, allowing them to continue being challenged. These students have the advantage of working side-by-side with classmates, while not feeling the pressure of being "the smart one."
The A.C.E. Teacher works daily with the students helping them learn to set goals for each subject that will increase their self confidence in their Academic abilities and finished the necessary Paces for that school year. The Teacher checks each morning that the student has finished what they set for themselves the previous day. Sometimes alterations of the student's goals are required to either make it attainable, or more challenging depending on the student. The Teacher is always in the room to help any students that need help.
A.C.E. allows students to discover how they learn the best and continue on with what works!
